Human Movement Workshops

The goal of the KLTS Human Movement Program is to provide the health and fitness professional with the theories and guidelines for understanding what are muscle imbalances and how do we create muscle balance to promote optimal movement.

Assessment Strategies: During this section of the lecture we will address the following areas:

  1. Overhead Squat:
    1. Anterior view and  what to look for
    2. Posterior view and what to look for
    3. Lateral view and what to look for

    1. The setup
    2. Why is important to keep his from rotating

Common question: Why are these assessments important before training your client?

The movement assessments allows the health and fitness profession to look at the kinetic chain and identify weak links in the body. The kinetic chain is the Nervous system, Muscular system, and the Articular system.  Identifying the weakness allows you to learn more about your client. Poor biomechanics and excessive over training can lead to strain on the body. Muscle imbalances will lead to overuse injuries from altered movement patterns. The key is to develop optimal movement from optimal length tension relationship and normal force couple relationship. This will enable your client to have optimal structural alignment, optimal neuromuscular control, which creates optimal movement.  In short, this enables develop a strong foundation in your client’s.
